That’s the harsh legal stuff out of the way. It has to be said, but on the other hand I’m very keen that my work is shared and enjoyed. Here’s how you can do it.
Licences for republication
Churches and non-profit organisations can purchase licences to re-use church cartoons in church newsletters and elsewhere. I really appreciate people who buy a licence – this enables me to keep on doing what I do. Let me know if you aren’t sure which licence you need.
Church websites
My policy here: you can post a cartoon or two with a link to my site. But if you find you’d like to use the cartoons regularly on your site please consider buying a licence.
I’m happy for cartoons to be tweeted if the tweet links to this site, and tags me, @davewalker.
Again, I’m happy for private individuals to share my cartoons on Facebook with a link and a credit. Please see the Facebook page, CartoonChurch (church cartoons) and share a cartoon from that page rather than uploading it yourself. Or use one of the sharing buttons on this site. If the cartoon you are looking for isn’t listed on the Facebook page (this is the case with many of my church ones) you may post a cartoon, but please link to my website and tag CartoonChurch.com in the post.
Blogs
If you’re a private individual blogging you can use an occasional cartoon on your blog provided:
1) You host it on your own server.
2) You post a link to my site.
Commercial blogs and Facebook pages (or if you’re not sure) – please contact me.
Commercial use
If you are a commercial organisation and would like to re-use a cartoon please get in touch. Thank you!
